It’s that time of year when the crisp air and leaves changing colors remind us that fall is here, and with it come so many delicious things—Honeycrisp apples, pumpkin pies, warm sweaters… But there’s another fall favorite that most people tend to overlook: pears.

For those of you who have never given this fruit a try, there’s no better time than now. These fruits are in season and their buttery flavor and firm texture make them the perfect comfort food for this time of year.

When it comes to desserts, I’ve always been a fan of the kind that take some prep-work, but are completely worth the extra effort. This recipe is one of those desserts.

It calls for a little more time and attention than your average dessert because it involves stuffing pears with cinnamon, honey, nuts, and raisins before baking them in the oven…but that’s what makes this dessert so unbelievably tasty.

Even if you’ve never had this kind of dessert before, if you like your desserts sweet and a little bit tart, then you’ll fall in love with thIs one. Plus, they look super pretty when they’re finished!

This is a great recipe for when you have company over because it’s so easy to make and can be made in advance. It’s perfect for a warm afternoon when you’re sipping on herbal tea or coffee.

The smell of this dessert baking will fill your home with an inviting aroma and make you eager to dig in!

Although we have learned to prepare and consume sophisticated desserts, from various doughs and creams, it wouldn’t hurt, from time to time, to resort to a lighter, simpler, and healthier dessert, as presented in this article.

This is one of the simplest desserts we can prepare at home when we feel the need for something sweet, easy, and dietary. Pears are sweet, juicy, and very aromatic fruits, and can be easily transformed into a sugar-free dessert.

COOKING TIME

45 minutes

SERVINGS

4

Ingredients

• 4 pears

• 4 tablespoons of honey

• 1 vanilla essence

• 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

• 50 g ground nuts – 3 tablespoons

For Decor

• 1 teaspoon of coconut

Coconut adds more contrast to this recipe, but you can use something else for decoration, such as roasted walnuts or nuts, oats, blueberries, pomegranate berries, or other fruits.

Method of Preparation

• The pears are washed well, they are erased and cut along in two, after which they are cleaned of seeds and they are notched on the inside to allow the honey to penetrate the fiber of the fruit.

• Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius.

• Grease a heat-resistant pan with coconut oil, if you have it in the house because it will give the pears an even sweeter aroma, and put in half the pears, with the inside, slightly notched, up.

• Put in each notch butter. Powder half of the pear with cinnamon. Cover the tray with the half pears with aluminum foil, and bake for 25 minutes, so that it soaks well and begins to color.

• Meanwhile, mix the honey, groundnut, and vanilla essence. Instead of nut, you can also use ground almonds.

• Remove the pears from the oven, fill them with the mixture of honey, walnut, and vanilla essence and bake for another 20 minutes, until they are nicely roasted.

• After removing the pears from the oven, season it with the coconut and serve the hot dessert. It has a special aroma.

Last Thoughts

Autumn was always my favorite season. There’s something about the turning leaves that makes me feel like everything’s going to be alright. I think it’s because they remind me of the way colors mix and blend in a painting, and I’ve always enjoyed seeing how new things come together.

And of course, it’s not just nature that comes alive in fall, there are so many great foods that come into season as well. One of my favorites is a pear.

In this recipe, pears take on the flavors of honey, nuts, and cinnamon. It’s an easy dessert that can even be made on a weeknight with ingredients you probably already have at home.

This is one of the most delicious desserts that are great for the fall season. It’s important to select pears that are ripe, but still firm. You can also add in raisins for extra flavor.
