The effort can be large and lacking in results if you do not inform yourself in advance. You have made some important changes in your diet and even made time for physical activity, regularly. However, it seems you don’t lose weight even a little. Or, you started to lose a little at first, and then you stagnated.
It is of course much easier to start eating less and less, even starving yourself and losing weight on the couch. But it will not have the desired long-term effect because you will not be able to starve yourself endlessly, the more you will destroy your organism.
Here are some 9 common mistakes most of us are guilty of, and what you need to do to lose weight.
1) Don’t eat at the Right Hours
We know that sometimes it seems almost impossible to make time to eat properly, especially if you have a lot of other things on your mind. However, if you want to lose weight and see lasting results, you need to be careful when eating. A frequent mistake is skipping breakfast, which is not for nothing called the most important meal of the day.
Regardless of how busy your program is, make sure you eat the three main meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and between them, you have at least two healthy snacks (NO CHIPS!).
Also, one of the most important weight loss tips is attention to the hours you eat. The first meal should be no later than one hour after you wake up, while the dinner table should be taken until 7.00 pm Even if you eat carefully, the food you eat at 10 at night will have not a too good effect on your body.
2) You Eat on the Run
Did you get used to having your breakfast at the wheel or considering that lunch is a burger that you eat with a big appetite while you work? Well, this might be one of the answers to the question: why don’t I lose weight.
Meals on the run, where your attention is elsewhere, do not have the desired effect on the body. So, try to spend at least half an hour for each important meal of the day. Try not to distract yourself by watching TV or tapping your phone and eating slowly.
3) You Exagerate with Sport
It is okay to want to do sports in a sustained way, but there is a danger of exaggerating with the sport as you see some results appear. At some point, you may you stagnate and fail to lose weight at all.
The solution is not to do more sports than you can do, but to have a well-established routine and to do things gradually. Your body needs training and rest to be able to react according to your needs.
4) You Don’t Get Enough Rest
Rest allows the body to recover. Your body needs rest if you want things to go as you intended. Otherwise, all your efforts will be in vain.
5) You Drink Sodas
Are you careful when it comes to food, but do you drink all kinds of sweet juices? We have a problem! Among the most important tips to lose is the attention to the type of liquids you drink. Water is first! Then there are the unsweetened teas and coffee (in reasonable quantities).
Sodas, juices with high sugar content, and drinks such as hot chocolate are forbidden. These have a very high sugar content that not only can make you gain weight but can also lead to different diseases.
6) Do Not Eat Sufficient Protein
Proteins don’t fatten and they don’t just help you build muscle mass. Proteins are important for many other reasons: they form hormones and give structure and shape to tissues and organs. They also act as a catalyst for metabolism.
The meat is not only tasty and ok from a food point of view, but it also offers a feeling of satiety. A steak and a salad of fresh vegetables can be the perfect choice for any lunch.
7) You Eat too Much
Eating too much has little to do with hunger and more about emotional eating. In recent years we eat more and more, meaning we feel the need to compensate for the daily stress and emotional consumption of the day, through food.
We often eat sweets because sugar is addictive. But food abuse can involve food of any kind. Try to become aware of what is happening to you and adjust your eating habits.
8) Too Many Carbohydrates
Give up sweets or try to reduce the amount. You cannot lose weight without taking this step. Sweets have many calories and we often tend to abuse them. Surely, a chocolate square will never hurt you, but are you able to limit yourself to just one? At first, it is more difficult to give up sugar, but things get simpler as time goes by.
9) Don’t Drink Enough Water
If you want to lose weight you have to be very careful what liquids you consume. Water can help you a lot. If you drink at least 2 liters of water every day, you will not be as hungry. You can also add a few drops of lemon juice to the glass of water. This trick will cut you off from the appetite and keep you from colds.
It’s not easy to lose weight. The reason for that is simple: It’s hard to break old habits and develop new ones. It takes a combination of self-control and consistency, paired with an overall healthy lifestyle. If you can do this successfully, the benefits, including a sleeker body will follow!
There you have it – 9 reasons for which we cannot lose weight. Hopefully, this information will come in handy for anyone who’s looking to lose some pounds. Just make sure to be realistic about what you’re after, and the time frame in which you can achieve it.
You may have to trim down your expectations if you find that your weight loss goals are too lofty, simply because you might be setting yourself up to fail. And remember: slow and steady wins the race!
